Families to nudge2

How do you send a Christmas party invitation online?

Text each household its own link for a two-tap reply, or post the shared link in a group chat where guests add their names. Families answer for everyone at once. It's free, with no ads or guest accounts.

December fills up fast, so get the count early

A Christmas party competes with every other December weekend. Guests mean to reply, then three more holiday invites land the same week, and you're left guessing how much food to make.

Send each friend or household its own link, or post the shared link in the group chat or the office channel, where anyone can add their name. A family answers for everyone in one reply, kids included.

Put the dress code, the gift exchange rules, and parking in the details. Guests see them on the invite and can add the party to their calendar from the same page.

When to send a Christmas party invitation

4 to 6 weeks before
For an office party or a mid-December weekend, send the invite or a save the date early. Those weekends book up first.
3 to 4 weeks before
For a party with friends or family, send the full invite with the dress code and any gift exchange rules.
About a week before
Make this the RSVP deadline, so you can shop for the real count.
A few days before
Copy a nudge for anyone who still hasn't answered and send it in your own chat.

Where Christmas party RSVPs get messy

December calendars are full
Guests mean to answer, then more holiday invites arrive, and yours slips down the thread.
Families reply in two words
“We're in!” doesn't say whether the kids, the grandparents, or a cousin home from college are coming too.
Coworkers and family don't share a chat
Office friends, neighbors, and relatives reply in different places, and you tally them by hand.
The food is a guess
You cook for 20, then 28 people show up, or 12.

Three steps from invite to headcount

It works the way friends, family, and coworkers already talk.

  1. Add your guests

Add each friend or household with the people you're inviting, or skip the list and use the shared link. Set whether extra guests are welcome.

  2. Share the link

Text it, email it, or post it in a group chat. Guests read the details, then tap Yes, No, or Maybe for their whole household, with no account or app.

  3. Watch the count, nudge the maybes

Your dashboard shows who's coming and who's still a maybe. Copy a nudge for anyone who hasn't answered and send it yourself.

A count you can cook for
Every household answers Yes, No, or Maybe for everyone in it, so you know how much food and how many chairs before you shop.
One link for the office, private links for family
Post the shared link in the work channel, and text relatives their own household link.
Easy on your guests
Guests open the link in any phone browser and reply in two taps, with no account. There are no ads on the invite, free or Plus.

Ask about food before you shop

Add an optional question guests answer with their RSVP. For a potluck-style party, add a free sign-up list, and guests take a dish when they say yes.

Questions

Common questions about Christmas party invitations.

Are these Christmas party invitations free?

Yes. Hejmo is free for unlimited events, with RSVP tracking, private links, a shared link, sign-up lists, nudges, co-hosts, and one RSVP question. There are no ads on the invite. Plus is optional: $12 for one event adds your own cover photo or an illustrated cover, invitation styles, an animated preview that plays in iMessage, a custom link, a custom RSVP confirmation, and up to five RSVP questions.

When should you send Christmas party invitations?

Three to four weeks ahead for a party with friends or family, and four to six weeks for an office party or a busy mid-December weekend. Set the RSVP deadline about a week before, so you shop for the real count.

What should a Christmas party invitation say?

The date and time, the address with parking notes, whether partners and kids are welcome, the dress code (ugly sweaters, festive, or cozy), any gift exchange rules and price limit, and an RSVP date.

Can Hejmo run a gift exchange or Secret Santa?

Hejmo doesn't draw names. Put the rules and price limit in the details, and ask “Playing the gift exchange?” as your RSVP question, so you know how many gifts to expect.

Can guests sign up to bring a dish?

Yes. Add a free sign-up list with what you need, like Sides ×4 or Desserts ×3. Guests take an item when they say yes, and each item shows how many are still needed.

Can I post one link in an office channel?

Yes. The event's shared link lets anyone who opens it add their name and reply. Send private links to anyone not in the channel.

Do guests need an app or an account?

No. The link opens in any phone or computer browser, and guests reply in two taps.
