Privacy policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
The short version
- Guests never need an account, a phone number, or an app.
- We never ask anyone to upload their contacts.
- We don't sell personal data and we don't run ads.
- Invite pages are private links, not public listings, and are not indexed by search engines.
- Email [email protected] any time to access or delete your data.
What we collect
If you host events: your account details (name, email, password), the events you create, and the guest lists you enter — group names, the names of people in each group, and any details you choose to add (which can include contact details like a phone number). You control this information, and you should only add guest details you're comfortable managing on your guests' behalf.
If you're a guest: when you RSVP, we store only what you submit — your responses (Yes/No/Maybe per person) and any optional note. We don't require an account, and we never ask you for a phone number or your contacts. Your host may have added details about you (like your name) when building their guest list.
If you upgrade an event: payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
Automatically: standard usage analytics (pages visited, general device info) and error reports, so we can keep Hejmo fast and working. We don't use this data for advertising.
How we use it
To run the service: show invite pages to the right guests, keep your headcount current, send account emails like password resets, process upgrades, and understand aggregate usage so we can improve the product. That's it. We don't sell personal data, share it with advertisers, or use guest lists for marketing.
Who processes data for us
Hejmo runs on trusted infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf: Vercel and Cloudflare (hosting and content delivery), PlanetScale (database hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (service emails like password resets), Google Analytics and PostHog (product analytics), and Sentry (error monitoring). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
Guest data and hosts
Hosts add their guests to Hejmo, so hosts are responsible for what they enter. If a host added you to an event and you'd like your details removed, ask the host to remove you — or email us and we'll take care of it.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. Archiving an event removes it from view. To permanently delete an event, its guest list, or your entire account, email [email protected] and we'll confirm once it's done.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Email us and we'll honor these requests regardless of where you live.
Changes
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, note it in the product. Questions? Email [email protected].
